63. Rishis - Great Seers Of India

The very word "Bharat" means love of knowledge, "Bha", means knowledge or light; "ratham", means interest or love.

Modern researchers limit themselves to physical and material aspects of this creation. They perceive what their senses permit. But our ancient seers perceived the truths that were beyond the grasp of senses and dived deep into the subtler aspects of creation and the spiritual aspects.

The spiritual domain begins, as one transcends the physical or material aspects of this creation. They perceive what their senses permit. But our ancient seers perceived the truths that were beyond the grasp of senses and dived deep into the subtler aspects of creation and the spiritual aspects.

The spiritual domain begins, as one transcends the physical or material domain. Going beyond the sensual plane, is growing beyond the senses. To grow beyond senses, one has to control the senses, by turning these outgoings senses inwards.

Journey inwards is the journey into our inner realms; into our spiritual being that is beyond body & mind.

India had been robbed of its materialistic and intellectual wealth but spiritual wealth to the rights recipients. Hence Indians trace their lineage to these rishis, the seers of yore. Indians respect and worship them everyday.

Sapta rishis are prominent among them; even today they appear to us as the brilliant stars in the sky. The Sapta rishis are :

1. Agastya 2. Atri 3. Angiras 4. Kashyap 5. Bhrigu
6. Vashishtha 7. Vishwamitra
